Inktober 2018 – Day 1 (of 16)

Day 1 of 16 (for me) of Inktober. For those that do not know what Inktober is: It is a month long art challenge created by Jake Parker. The goal is to draw everyday for a month to improve your skills and develop positive drawing habits. Many choose to draw and post everyday. Others once a week and those like myself choose to post every other day. My goal is to complete 16 ink drawings by Oct 31. If I post/complete more than the planned 16, it’s a win-win for me. I chose my own theme, Flora & Fauna. I may interweave my theme with the pre-selected Inktober one. Why did I decide to do it? I’ve been away from traditional art for a while and I’ve become “rusty”. I want to get back to and surpass my previous skill level. I usually take on a project around this time of year anyway. I thought why not participate and accomplish a short term goal? One of my big assignments (for myself/from myself) is all about setting and achieving said goals.
